Safety Consulting & CE Certifications

Is it really safe?

Complying with current standards and safety regulations is becoming increasingly complex.

  • Can an existing machine be modified while remaining compliant with standards and safe?
  • Does combining individual machines into a complete system create risks that need to be considered?
  • How do I achieve CE conformity for my machine?
  • What risks do I face when importing a machine myself?
  • How do you design a safe machine or system?

Our TÜV-certified safety experts support you with consulting, training, and CE certifications.

Service
1. Hazard Analysis:
  • Conducting a thorough on-site analysis. (Identification and assessment of potential hazards)
  • Creation of a detailed report with defects and photos to identify safety risks.
2. Risk Assessment according to EN ISO 12100:
  • Classification of the product (What constitutes a machine, load-handling attachment, chains, interchangeable equipment, partly completed machinery)
  • Clarifying the applicable directives (Machinery / EMC / Pressure Equipment Directive, etc.)
  • Identification of the required standards (EN 60204-1 Safety of machinery – Electrical equipment of machines, EN ISO 14123-1:2015 Safety of machinery – Reduction of risks to health from hazardous substances emitted by machinery – Part 1: Principles and specifications for machinery manufacturers, etc.)
  • Defining the limits of the machine (intended use). The limits of the machine determine which areas, process steps, components, etc. are considered at all in the risk assessment.
  • Concrete evaluation of the risks. (Hazard identification, risk estimation and risk evaluation) across all life phases and operating modes
  • Definition of risk-reduction measures.
  • Determination of the required Performance Level (PLr according to 13849) or alternatively the Safety Integrity Level (SIL 61508-61511).
3. Safety Concept:
  • Developing a comprehensive safety layout
  • Design of sensors and actuators according to the PL requirements
  • Development of an emergency stop / LOTO(TO) concept
  • Mechanical adjustments in accordance with the safety requirements
  • Recommendation of general safety components
4. Implementation:
  • Integration of the system into the existing infrastructure
  • Development and implementation of the required software
  • Creation of electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Manufacturing of required protective equipment
  • Installation and commissioning of the system
5. Verification & Validation:
  • Verification of the Performance Level in accordance with EN 13849-1
  • Review of software and hardware regarding their safety functions, according to EN ISO 13849-1 / 2
  • Assessment of the safety measures on site. Inspection of all relevant protective equipment
  • Acceptance of the system after successful review. Review of the technical documentation as well as all relevant safety aspects of the machine / system
6. CE Conformity:
  • Creation of the required documentation for CE conformity
  • Completion of the process by signing the corresponding documents. Issuance of the declaration of incorporation / conformity
7. Service
  • Regular inspection of the system / equipment
